thalassemia: A group of inherited diseases of the blood that affect a person's ability to produce hemoglobin in his red blood cells.

thrombophilia: An increase in the tendency of the blood to clot.

thrombosis: The formation or development of a blood clot.

transfusion: To transfer blood from one person to another.

Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia: A rare cancer of the lymph cells that causes the body to produce abnormal levels of plasma cells and lymphocytes in the bone marrow. Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia may also cause a decrease number of red blood cells and trigger an enlargement of the liver, spleen and/or glands.
